The Libyan National Government, led by Fayez al Sarraj, denounced Egypt’s raid in Derna, Eastern Libya, as a “country’s” attack on sovereignty. “Whatever the pretexts, we reject any action that looks to the sovereignty of our country,” says the statement issued today by the Sarraj government, “there is no justification for violating the territory of other countries, no matter how qualified it is” . Egyptian aviation, backed by General Khalifa Haftar, Libya’s strong man of the East, has pointed out yesterday six air raids in the Libyan city of Derna for reprisal to the terrorist attack on Coptic Christians, costing their lives 29 people, including many children. The attack was claimed today by Islamic State jihadists (Isis).
