At least six militants of the Taliban radical group (outlawed in Russia) have been killed as a result of the US drone strike in central Afghan Wardak province, local media reported Monday citing a spokesman for the provincial governor. Abdul Rahman Mangal told TOLO news outlet that the strike took place on Sunday in Maidan Shar, the provincial capital. “The Taliban’s local commanders are also among the dead,” Mangal told the media. Afghanistan has been facing instability for many years, with government troops fighting against Islamic extremists and terror organizations.
